Maschinen fabrik Hohenzollern in Düsseldorf supplied many locomotives to dutch customers in various gauges. Steamlocomotive 3 of the NSS is an example of the "Löwe" type. In 1930 she was supplied to construction company Verstoep in Gouderak. She was part of a delivery of similar locs with the numbers 4391, 4393 en 4394. It is likely that number 4392 was part of this delivery as well, but there are no known records. Active service lasted until 1969. In 1988 the "Hohenzollern" was handed over in free loan and added to the NSS collection. On May 23, 2003 she was officially transferred to NSS.
A restoration plan will be worked on.
